
Specialist Skills Education Curriculum
Here at STL we are proud to be offering courses in Kent that are for anyone aged 16-24 with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).
The aim of this courses are to allow learners to learn trade skills so they can consider future options for employment within the construction and beauty sector.
These courses are for anyone aged 16-24 with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP)
We have 4 levels within these two programmes. Each learner will be internally assessed and placed on the
correct level based on their skills and prior achievement within the subject. If learners were to start at entry level they will be able to progress and complete all the levels.
All young people need guidance to prepare for their future. A young person with special educational needs (SEN) may face additional challenges to achieving their goals. Here at STL we are offering the below courses if you meet the below entry criteria.

Introduction to Construction
Candidates will be completing trade skills in Wall & Floor Tiling, Bricklaying and Plastering at Entry level Award and include the follow units -

This programme is aimed at candidates who want to learn the trade skills from the
Beauty Industry.

Candidates will achieve the following qualification
Level 1 Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying
This course provides learners with a range of bricklaying skills and knowledge. Learners will also develop an understanding of the health and safety requirements for working in the construction industry -

Candidates will achieve the following qualification
Level 1 Diploma in Beauty Therapy
This qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills through the following units -

improving the appearance of the hands and feet with basic manicure and pedicure services

providing relaxing head massage treatments
-
cleansing, toning and moisturising and giving advice on skin care
-
basic day make-up application
-
nail art
-
themed face painting
-
photographic make-up
Candidates will also develop a sound knowledge of health and safety and develop an underpinning knowledge and understanding of the skills required to support you in the beauty therapy industry such as salon reception duties.

This course provides learners with a range of bricklaying skills and knowledge. Learners will also develop an understanding of the health and safety requirements for working in the construction industry -

This course provides learners qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding so you can work as a Bricklayer within the construction industry
